Otis op de Parade

Dit jaar staat er een voorstelling van M-lab op de Parade. Ik ben dol op de Parade en dol op M-lab dus die voorstelling moest ik zien! Otis was eerder te zien in M-lab maar ik had geen mogelijkheid om er heen te gaan. Gelukkig kon ik op de Parade (helaas in ingekorte vorm) Otis alsnog gaan zien.

After the ...and that is who I am tag I had the idea of doing a tag about who I was as a child. I couldn't really find one and so I thought: I'll make one myself! Probably don't have enough followers to make a really successful one, but I would love it if any of you would copy it to their own blog (with a link to my blog pretty please. Although I love all 30 of you dearly, I wouldn't mind it if more people read Wit).  As I love old photographs, feel free to add as much photos as you can. I hope you'll like it. Here it goes: 

When asked "What do you want to be when you grow up?" what would 4 year old you have answered? 

I think that back then I wanted to be a bunny with a drum. Like the ones in the Duracell batteries commercial. I think it had to do with the pink color.

Did your parents ever bring you to a photographer while you were a kid? 

Yes they did. Although I wasn't to happy with that according to the photos.

The Book of Mormon tells the story of elder Price and elder Cunningham. They are teamed up to go on their mission together. They'll go to Uganda and try to convert as many Uganda people as they can. When they arrive their luggage is stolen by rebels from the ruling warlord of the village they are staying in. They are enthusiastically welcomed by the inhabitants of the village but they don't seem interested in the message the elders have to tell. This is confirmed when Price and Cunningham meet the other elders that are stationed in Uganda.

Elegant Hand download je hier met code 4160. Scribbly Serif by Hand kun je hier downloaden met code 4705. En het eerste font dat ik maakte (hence de naam) Ipad's Font 1 vindt je hier en kun je downloaden met code 6037.

Leeds Castle

In Leeds bij Maidstone in Kent staat Leeds Castle. Henry VIII (jep, die koning in The Tudors) liet zijn ex vrouw Catharine of Aragorn en hun dochter opgesloten worden in het kasteel toen hij een andere vrouw wou trouwen. In 1926 werd het kasteel eigendom van Lady Baillie. Zij liet het verbouwen en voorzag het kasteel van alle moderne gemakken zoals electriciteit en riolering. Dit zonder het middeleeuwse uiterlijk van bijvoorbeeld balken te verwijderen. De balken werden alleen vervangen door holle balken zodat er plaats ontstond voor de elektriciteitskabels. Lady Baillie nodigde haar vrienden uit op het kasteel, hieronder bevonden zich vele Hollywood sterren, wereld beroemde sporters en andere celebs.

Het recept voor de witte chocolade cheesecake vond ik op mijnreceptenboek.nl. Je vindt het recept hier. Ik kon geen amarettikoekjes vinden en gebruikte daarom cantuccini. Heerlijk! Het nadeel van cantuccini is alleen dat er grote stukken amandel in zitten en dat maakt dat de bodem brozer blijft. Het snijden van de taart gaat daarom wat lastig. Maar als het je gelukt is om iets op je boord te krijgen is het de moeite wel helemaal waard.

Ingrediënten voor het maken van de worteltaart:
473 g bloem
473 gr suiker
2 eetlepels bakpoeder
2 eetlepels kaneel
een snufje zout
236 g plantaardige olie
4 eieren
1 theelepel vanille
709 g geraspte wortel (niet te groot)
